SS,

I agree completely. Bush had some high ground before the move to stop the recount, but I ask, what options does he really have? Do you think it is a fair test to do selective recounts when it is generally regarded as beneficial to the majority winner in that specific area?

I don't. My biggest fear is that the recount opportunity in Bush strongholds expired and that COULD be the factor that swings this.

I also agree that both are over the line as far as what kind of behavior we would expect from the kind of person fit for our highest office.

Daley, ugg. I really don't like the guys glib attitude. The way he says the Republicans could have a recounts too reminds me a of little kid. I have developed a strong dislike for him as a person. Apples and trees.

As for elder statements I have been wondering where they all are. The country will survive this, but there will be damage leftover.

Have a good one.

TH

I also wonder what Republicans coming up for election in 2002 are thinking. If Bush is put into office under these conditions, the backlash might be pretty serious on the Republican party.

The opposite might be true if Bush stepped down at this time.

I think we can bet we will see a new wave of voter registration and one of the most interesting mid-term elections ever.
