BARRON'S article s/b entitled "GRUSS & SON SHORT BIOTECHS"

Actually Gruss has been doing fairly decent biotech research for a regional firm. Here's a sample:

oscargruss.com

They're a market maker, but no big spikes in their biotech stock volume in September, the latest month available at the Nadsaqtrader site.

And in the Bush/Gore saga, I think Bush will lose his Federal court challenge that the Florida election laws are unconstitutionally vague or deficient on an Equal Protections count - this is not something a Federal court is going to want to get involved in, and my general impression is that the Florida laws are pretty typical of most states. (And Bush having recently signed a Texas law giving hand counts primacy over machine counts somewhat undercuts his argument anyhow.)

Further, if you extrapolate the vote gains made by both sides in the 1% recount, it looks to me like Gore has a fair chance of ending up with a majority in Florida if the recount is permitted. The deadline for Bush to ask for (offsetting) recounts in the areas where he leads is fast approaching or has already expired. Thus the key issue is whether the Tuesday deadline for a recount will be extended or not.

Anyone seen an on-line version of the Florida election laws? It would be nice to see the hard facts rather than nth hand interpretations.
