I think that this Register article is of the same basis as the one that they did when they claimed that the P4 would launch in Jan 2000!

Anyone remember that one? :)

Yeah Right! P4 is going to have its ass handed to it (most likely) on Nov 20th (at 1.5G) and they are only going to be launching at 1.5G when they will be at 2GHz just 1.5 months later!?!?

I'll give a lot more credance to the story if Intel launches the P4 at 1.6 or 1.7 Ghz on Nov 20th. We will see.

Or Intel is shamed enough of it's P4 performance to do such a jump, or, more likely, the register will loose a lot of credibility.

500MHz boost in one month.... THAT would be Inteligent

Aburner, <<we're aggressively going for AMD's balls... a real cockup>>

Please be nice, droids are already shell shocked, their own reflections scare them.

Hey, AMD just turned green. Lets see the minimum cpu rev will be 8.5M x $91 = $773.5M, I think ASP may have a chance to be a few bucks higher, I could not come up with less then $100 ASP in my calculations, Jerry not to be trusted. gg.

Relax droids. Intel is spreading 2GHz P4 FUD.
This all they can do to minimize the embarrassment of the 1.4GHz 217 mm P4 struggling mightily to keep up with the 700MHz Duron on CPU benchmarks.
