Joe <<I tried to come up with a scenario that would result in $90 ASP, and it is hard to come up with one.>>

What were the estimates for Athlon vs Duron?

Here's my guess:
75% Athlon SOLD at 1Ghz or greater.
25% Athlon SOLD at < 1 Ghz
2.5 Million Athlon @ $185
3.5 Million Duron @ 55
2.0 Million K6 @ 35

This results in $90.625 ASP.

If Athlon production goes up to 3 million, ASP = 96.18
If Duron sells at $60, ASP = 92.81.
etc.

There are more sub-GHz Athlons sold than you guys think... Austin Athlons should be ramped out by Q1 but I still see a lot of tbirds under 900...

Additionally, Dresden Athys may be downbinned since oems doesn't seem to go far above 1GHz...

Couldn't be that Mr. Sanders and his colleagues were sandbagging at the news conference, or could it???
