OT Presidential Question:

Some seem to think that who becomes President will have a profound impact on the long-term market. Therefore, depending on which candidate becomes President, would someone care to predict the spread between the George W. Bush Dow Jones Industrials and the Al Gore Dow Jones Industrials, and the George W. Bush NASDAQ and the Al Gore NASDAQ at year-end 2001?

OT --

Everyone would be treated the same.

Reminds me of the line from "Billy Elliot," where the seen-it-all chain-smoking dance teacher hears a few bars of music and says, "The sun will come up tomorrow. . . . Fat chance."

just to clarify...each candidate had the opportunity to ask for a hand count in any county they chose...it was bush's decision not to ask for a hand count.

instead, he chose what appears to be a rather weak alternative...going into federal court to affect a state court issue.

as far as i'm concerned...they can hand count every single florida ballot...just so we can put this matter to rest...
