OT Politics - I'm a Bush supporter, and I argued vociferously for him hear in Manhattan, NY (NOT EASY). But I'm beginning to think about 2002 and 2004 since whoever wins now will face essentially a stalemated, perhaps catatonic, Congress. This leads me towards thinking a graceful exit, IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE COUNTRY, for George W. Bush may not be a bad strategy. The Republicans can be the statesmen, Gore will have to compromise to show any leadership, off-year Congressional elections could go significantly Republican, based on typical out year anti-administration results, Gore may face Hillary in primaries beginning early 2004, with a lot of noise early in 2003, and Dubya (if he has the heart), could have another chance, having proven his morality and true statesmanship in 2000. The electorate ought to be good and fed up with the Clinton-Gore methods by then. Am I just dreaming? John

Saw, how about Bush's assertion that this matter has no place in the courts - and with things turning against him he's first to the court house. When it comes to politics, there's no shortage of hypocrisy. Pierre
