Surely nobody, including you, can deny that Bush would bring moral improvement to the Oval Office.

So I take it that having a rapist in the WH was
irrelevant to you.

If Bill Clinton were running his sins would likely be equally relevant. The real significance, however, of the GWB arrest record is that it undermines his claim that he in some way brings moral dignity to the office of the Presidency. In fact he is no better than Clinton in his using the very same excuses of not wanting to tell his family. There is no moral courage in that course. And that decision was not made 24 years ago. That decision was being made up until about two weeks ago

o GB said he would uphold the dignity to the office. He never said he was pure.

o Who are we to judge a private decision WRT to telling his family. Has your father given you a full accounting of his past?

o When Bush started his run the country was awash in stains on the blue dress. The natural tendency was to probe for the deepest detail of any candidate. GW drew the line and said that if people can't accept his unwillingness to divulge every last detail of his past then they could make that choice at the ballot booth.

To compare Clinton's pathological inability to see the consequences of his personal actions with GWB is way off the mark.

If we continue down this path we will quickly filter out many people who seek positions of leadership. Perhaps that process is well underway and we are now challenged by the choices in front of us.

We are in a leadership crisis in this country.
