Just because one can afford the $7 it takes to buy a share does NOT qualify them to offer any leadership to the
company. That said, I am quite certain that Scott posts here only because he wants to and for no other real reason. Further, hardly anyone at Novell reads this board, and certainly even fewer people actually give a shit about what is said. To be incensed about that is only to fall victim to one's own overinflated ego. And again, frankly, that's as it should be. So, please, Fred. Stop attacking Scott. Stop blaming him for anything.

Thanks Kilo! I don't think that shareholders are an important consideration for the NOVL executives..and while there are still a few over inflated egos around here with the pounding we keep getting I doubt that there is that much more *free* gas that needs to be released..:)

Hello kilo_watt,

I guess that you realize you posted this to me ... not Fred ... ;-)

Anyhow, you are completely correct ... I post on this thread, while I am here reading the other 20+ threads that I subscribe to and participate on.

I wish there could be a really good conspiracy story to tell here ... intricate corporate politics and strategy ... secret meetings ... coaching and scripting ...

But I'm sorry to say that I just don't lead that exciting of a life ... ;-)

Scott C. Lemon

Kilo....

>>Fred, I can promise you that Scott is not being used to "deflect attention elsewhere." You need to understand the relative importance of this board to Novell. It is virtually zero. And frankly, that's as it should be.

While I think Novell needs to do more to include customers in it's planning and strategy (and to be sure, it is trying harder to do this), I honestly don't think there is any value whatsoever in opening the kimono to a bunch of loudmouthed shareholders.

Just because one can afford the $7 it takes to buy a share does NOT qualify them to offer any leadership to the company.

I'm not blaming Scott for anything.

I'm cognizant that he's biased. Relative to each of our paradigms this doesn't make him wrong and me right and vis versa.

I'm sticking to my conclusion that Nelson's actions have undermined his ability to lead Novell to where it needs to go.

Scott has decided to insert himself into this discussion by defending Nelson while attacking me.

Nothing could be simpler.

I just don't see Scott having complete control over his own boat. It's now lashed to Novell. Novell needs Scott's boat to cruise circles around Novell.

JMHO. And I'm sure this will also come under attack. Novell needs internal challenges more than it needs external challenges. I'm just not sure where these challenges will come from.

Peace.

GO!!

Kilo_watt:

Out of curiousity what does qualify one to offer leadership to the company?

Would it be a similar disdain for shareholders you so easily express?

Maybe a higher degree of tolerance than us mere mortals are able to corral?

Or hadn't you noticed that at about the same time as Novell's enlightened minions decided they didn't give a shit about what the shareholders had to say most of the shareholders didn't give a shit about anything Novell had to say.

Your comments about Novell's decision related to the Boy Scouts is as sick as their apparently devolving corporate culture. While you continue to hide behind your ex-officio status as the ultimate insider try to keep your personally intolerant comments to yourself.

Thanks,

Don
