we all have seen the legislation forwarded the past four years by Lott-Armey-DeLay.

In Vegas parlance, that's three of a kind that can't beat Ace high. :-)

"The reason is that the American dream is only available to some in this country, not to all, and 95% of black voters realized that Bush was not the man to make things better"

You will NEVER get anywhere in America if you believe that the American dream is not available to blacks (or ANY other group). The more you say it and the more it is repeated by the likes of Jesse Jackson the longer it will be until this divide is closed up. How did Jesse Jackson succeed? How about Colin Powell? or Clarence Thomas? If I'm getting to republican, how about Don King (although I don't reccomend following his example)?

Don't like to tell people how to think, and I don't even know you - but damn it man, I KNOW the American dream is available to you. If you run up against a specific example of prejudice, kick some serious ass and make it be known that it is unacceptable. If you don't win that fight, try again because RIGHT is on your side.

As long as the crutch of "the American dream is only available to some in this country" is taught and repeated in this country it is going to be tough to turn things around.
