The paper ballots aren't "flawed." The people who failed to punch them failed to "vote." What does the term, "vote," mean, anyway? Isn't there an "act," involved, and shouldn't that simple "act" be required to be accomplished? What if somebody rested the punch on the ballot, broke a corner, then decided, "No, I don't want Al Gore making any more secret arms deals with Russia," but didn't like Bush, either, then went to the next race? It should be counted as a "NO VOTE." But the WPB canvassers, midway through the hand "reclassification," decided that was a vote for Gore. How can they divine this? They can't.

As to the protection against "bias" from both a Rep. and Dem. looking over each other's shoulder, that isn't the point. The "bias" comes from: 1) no standards applied equally as to what constitutes a "vote;" and 2) only heavily Democrat counties are having their ballots "reclassified" (I choose not to dignify it with the term, "re-count"), with a built-in mathematical bias in favor of the candidate who had the most votes in those counties. The Daley machine has this process down to a science; many articles are being written about it.

No names as requested, but the following is just an example of the MANY posts I receive privately :

<<Keith,

Not only are you not crazy, Keith, but you're one of the only honest souls posting on the Porch. Please don't be bullied into silence.

I'm persona non grata over there, so please do not mention my name. Thanks.>>

I will say this...it is not bonnie......porchers are very mistaken if they think she is the only one with an opinion out there. I also wouldlike to make referance to the "persona non grata" quote. That alone should tell you folks ( not you intc) that your "system" is not quite as good as you think.

My pijt in all this is to again try and show some stubborn folks that there are always two sides to every coin. I readily admitt many folks probably pm back and forth about me...but I would be willing to bet if we did a vote, i would win hands down. We have a select group here on the porch with their opinion...and unless you 20 or so people can vote 100 times each, I will win hands down. folks...dont you people realize how tough this year has been on EVERYBODY??? Trust me, my "party" is alot bigger then you realize. far more people are in my boat and on my side, then the 20 or so egomaniacs on this thread have in their boat. I have 80% of america in the same boat with same feelings as me...urging me to express those feelings and not let you folks bully me around. Every day, I hear from more and more people that I have never heard from before urging me on...telling me not to let the porchers intimidate me and etc, etc.....meanwhile, we have a few select folks here that are against me....I suggest yall stuff those ballot boxes or you will lose this battle....Until today, I have never posted pm's received....some of you are intent on turning this into a battle....you porchers will be humiliated if you knew what the majority of folks think about you...and I could care less that the minority folks here on the porch think I am a nut or one sided or whatever........this porch becomes more and more of a joke everyday...the people have spoken and are still speaking.

lastly....when I say you porchers.....yall know who I am referring to and who I am not.

Folks, I have received two messages concerning my post about JW. Both posts were in support of me, but both also felt I was harsh by saying that stuff about JW publicly....they said it should have been done privately.

Please understand, I have received many pm's from many people, about many people. I do not make a habit of posting these responses on the thread....only when deemed necessary.

JW posted saying he gets 10:1 PM's about me. He listed what people told him about me. He literally made a list including folks who think I am a 22 year old and etc, etc....yall, can go read his list. He Chose to go public with opinions folks told him about me in private. i did the same thing....and frankly was rather tame. I mean, JW composed a list of what several folks told him in private. I simply posted one persons opinion told me in private..and I was doing it in defense, because he chose to draw first. yall did not see me say that about JW until he chose to go public with what was told him. I again think I have every right to defend myself...and frankly, I have a list of opinions given to me privately about JW and many other folks. I only listed one and that was simply to defend myself.

I apologize if the post was harsh......I feel it was justified considering he not only drew his gun first, but he drew a much larger gun with this list he posted...I chose to respond in a lesser manner...just to prove a point that eveybody has an opinion and it dont mean squat. I could have come out with full guns blazing and posted every pm I have recieved about him...99.9% negative, but I chose not to. If my post stung JW, then maybe he ought to look at how his own actions brought about the response from me....I was simply defending myslef aginst him...and if he can draw his gun then he shouldn't be pissed that the other guy fires back.

Another typical response I get :

<< You've got more support than you know, believe me. And you're right on about XXXXX and XXXXX.>>

Can we please stop this now. can we please agree to disagree and get on with things. I have sat here for months now and taken a lot of $hit. Knowing all along that my support group...the folks that are on my side far outweighs, the folks here that think I am a nut....remember folks, this has been a tough year for all.....you guys may think your side has alot of numbers, but I have far more people on my side then the porch could ever drum up....most of you are a small select minority....the majority is on my side and you can take that to the bank. My point is...I took alot of $hit. I could have started a war knowing the support I have on my side. I didnt. I let you folks give me $hit and tried to be respectful. NO MORE!!! I am sick and tired of you pompous ass people that think your $hit smells better then everybody elses and think that your opinions are the only one;s that count. I am only talking about some of you...many of you I respect greatly....yall should be bright enough to figure out who is who.

Here is my suggestion. I will conceed for the good of this thread. As I said this morning, we have more important things to worry about then this ridiculous crap. End it. I conceed. leave it alone. Ignore me. Do not respond to me if you dont want...just end the personal attacks and I will conceed. If not, if you prefer war.....bring it on.

INTCfan,

re: >>The so called "chads"..<<

Ever since I first heard this word and its associated adjectives this weekend I thought it sounded like a medical condition an elderly Floridian might have, as in "You know, Wanda, I would go down to the polls and vote with you but my hanging chads are giving me the devil today!"

Another irrelevant observation: I read an article about the Bush campaign that began, "James Baker, known in Washington as the Velvet Hammer, stated that blah, blah, blah...". I think "The Velvet Hammer" is a great political nickname, though I'm kind of unsure what it means. Can Baker hit his opponents so hard they can't feel it? Can he build stuff quietly? Whatever its intended meaning the rest of the Bush team needs to develop this fabric/handtool theme. Maybe Baker could hire Martha Stewart and Bob Vila to come up with some combinations. I personally think George W should be called "The Velour Mallet" and Cheney should be known as "The Satin Sledge". I would christen other Cabinet members "The Burlap Hacksaw", "The Khaki Chisel", "The Woolly Screwdriver", etc. etc. I feel good nicknames are a prerequisite to great government.

Wanting to be known as "The Gingham Torque Wrench",
