Does a candidate have a right to request a recount in Florida?

How many recounts has Gore requested?

It all rests in the simple logic which exist in the form to the above questions.

Alternatively, Bush had the same right to request a recount. And he did. Unfortunately, he made a poor decision to request only a machine recount in the same counties Gore requested a handcount, and did not request a handcount in other counties which perhaps would have produced more positive results for Bush. Each campaign has to live with the decisions it makes.

By the way, each candidate has requested a recount. Here's the tally:

1) state election
2) recount mandated by Florida law
3) handcount recount request in four counties by Gore
4) machine recount request in the same four counties by Bush

The only thing wrong with the picture above is that Gore requested the right kind of recount in the right counties, whereas Bush did not. Remember, Bush had the same options as Gore. Gore choose better options.
