I think the fundamental reasons that put stocks where they are, and where they were even a year ago, are no longer here but the market is in denial about this...so I think medium term is further down, with of course rallies like today along the way. Why would any company be given the benefit of the doubt until at least the next round of earnings, when future fundamentals are such a mystery now?...munis have a pretty good yield, though I guess some would rather trust their money to RMBS and the like.
