The same could be said of mobile Celeron vs mobile PIII...

I haven't heard of any differences betw. Palomino and Morgan other than amount of cache. I hope, however, that the difference in performance (for whatever reason) is larger than betw. Athlon and Duron.

One thing... AMD did say that Morgan would be 1Q behind Palomino (not particular to mobile). Hopefully, this means that we will see a bigger frequency-gap than between Athlon and Duron. It's very hard to justify paying 2x as much for an 850MHz Athlon compared to an 800MHz Duron.
