fyo,

<if they already moved virtually all (70-80%)the Dresen waffer starts, which sounds unlikely aggressive, to ponys >

This may have more to do with availability of VIA chipset than anything else. Athlon laptops are planned to be highend laptops with DDR. Duron laptops will be low-end ones with PC100/PC133

fyo, maybe Morgan will be made in Fab 25 starting production in a month or two. Because of the aluminum interconnects, its max clock rate will be lower than the Palomino mobiles (which are copper) but its power consumption will be higher than Palomino at the same clock rate, even with smaller cache.

Hence the "budget" classification.

EDIT - and as Chuck pointed out, the infrastructure for Palomino laptops will be 266 MHz bus and DDR, certainly no DDR for low end Morgan laptops.

Question: how does DDR lower power consumption, as I've heard Scumbria say?

Speaking of Scumbria, did Intel hire him to fix the P4 IPC after he beat Paul in golf?
