Actually, I favor recounting everywhere they used the "punch" method, I believe that is 26 counties. I think however that a manual recount has to be requested locally in each county by county's representative (I presume those that think that a recount will improve their count). I heard on Andrea Mitchel (MSNBC) Senator Kerry mentioning this afternoon that in Seminole, a manual recount (requested there by the Republicans) was done earlier giving Bush another 355 votes (almost the margin by which he is currently ahead), someone on the RMBS thread, that that is not the case, anyone knows what are the facts?

Dear Tim:

Broward County, one of the four Florida counties weighing full recounts by hand, rejected the idea late Monday after workers performed a manual count in three precincts and turned up no major problems.

The strong Democratic county, which includes Fort Lauderdale, found only four additional votes for Gore after hand counting 3,892 ballots in three precincts.

Democrats immediately vowed to go to local court to overturn the decision, alleging Broward County officials relied on erroneous advice from Ha

It seems that if the hand count doesnt go Gores way and the elected officials (democrats in this case) refuse to go along with what he wants, then even they get sued. This Fla. business is turning into a farce. Will the people EVER rise up and say enough is enough?? The stock market and our international reputation are being run through the mill on this one. <ot>Hi Tim - LOL! It appears this is old time politics to me on both sides

cnn.com

Now the Bush camp sez it has no objection to manual recount if the Gore camp can complete it by 5pm today. Obviously, it knows the task is physically impossible.

This is not about justice --- but one upmanship! Personally, I'd go for the manual recount for all 67 counties, but I doubt neither of the 2 camps would accept.

best, Bosco
