I disagree with the premise that a hand count is going to be accurate. I think that you interject a human, subjective element into it that stands to swing the vote one way or the other. The Palm Beach Co. situation is a good example of that. In many cases they're advocating a position that seeks to put them in the ballot booth with the voter to try and glean voter intent. Are you going to tell me that is unbiased and stands to be the most accurate?

I am disgusted with the inefficiency of the voting process, and would support federal funding (combined with state matching grants) for a complete overhaul, and standardization of voting across the country. However, that is for future elections.

In the meantime, the machine counted my vote.

West Palm Beach can now argue the delay in conducting the manual recount is justified because of conflicting legal advice from the Secretary of State and State Attorney General. They can argue the recount was not only physically impossible to conduct in such a short time but was legally impossible because of the necessity to obtain a judicial declaration. Is the deadline subject to extension when the authorities cannot know with any certainty whether the recount is legal? Just my thoughts. I am no expert in election law.

well......... if common sense dictates for an accurate count they should have ask'd for a statewide hand recount. right ?
Askin' for ONLY a recount in ONLY 4 counties isnt seeking accuracy.........
