apan M'shita says cell phone holds 4,000 e-mails

--From AOl.-- Cooters

TOKYO, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Japan's Matsushita Electric Industrial plans to start selling mobile phones next month that can access the Internet and store up to
4,000 e-mail messages, it said on Tuesday.

Matsushita <6752.T>, the world's largest consumer electronics maker with brands including Panasonic and Technics, said the phone will be capable of using
64 megabyte Secure Digital (SD) memory cards.

The postage stamp-sized cards, developed by Matsushita, Japanese electronics maker Toshiba Corp <6502.T> and U.S.-based SanDisk Corp <SNDK.O>, have
the capacity to store four hours of recorded voice messages, Matsushita said in a statement.

Competition in the domestic memory card market has been fuelled by arch-rival Sony Corp's <6758.T> two-year-old Memory Stick (MS), a device the size of
a stick of chewing gum.

Matsushita's new mobile phone is designed specifically for the DDI Pocket mobile phone service operated by DDI Corp <9433.T>, better known as KDDI.

Industry data shows the number of DDI subscribers stood at 3.27 million at the end of October.

The news came after the Tokyo stock market closed. Matsushita fell 2.47 percent to close at 2,965 yen.

Unbelievable! Christopher was just on CNN, saying they WON the deadline decision, because the Court said the Sec. of State cannot arbitrarily refuse to accept county results, tantamount to winning their TRO. He then introduced David Boies, new Gore lawyer (a la Microsoft A.T. case), who says the Court said the Sec. of State already acted arbitrarily by saying she wouldn't accept late county results.

Spin, spin, spin, spin, spin.
