If you think the past six years were "gridlocked," you ain't seen nothin' yet. Daschle-Teddy-Hillary will tie up everything that walks and talks in the U.S. Senate. And you know what? The Dems' tactics also will carry the moral weight and wishes of the majority of the American people. (Lest we not forget, more people voted for Gore than voted for Bush.) So this will be the exact opposite of 1984, when Reagan, because of his overwhelming popularity with the American people, was able to accomplish much with a Democratic Congress. If Lott is smart, he'll yield (somewhat) on the issue of committee chairmanships, etc., allowing Dems to introduce amendments in committee, etc. But that ain't gonna happen because Lott is a backwater political hack.
