OK, so IYO there's no way to improve on the accuracy of a machine count (in a state where the difference in votes is well within th noise limit)? It may turn out that way, but it does appear that a count with improved accuracy should be possible, and would certainly please me regardless of its outcome.

We'll see. It's a shame it's so close either way, of course.
