I understand all the issues with the machines. It's a bad situation. It's also comforting to me that there are several people looking at each ballot.

But apparently there aren't standards that hold for every county, and to be honest given some of the "chad" issues I can't think of a perfect way to do it. Which is not say that the manual count isn't better. My gut tells me it is too. But I don't think it's as obvious a conclusion as everyone else seems to.

People make honest mistakes.

These are democratic districts setting the standards and making the rules for what counts.

Some of the people counting were present at the signing of the declaration of independence. (g)
