Solon, you make some good points. Somebody, somewhere, in a position to affect the outcome, ought to be looking ahead to how things are going to be once one of the candidates gets inaugurated. Surely, if there is to be any degree of reconciliation and public acceptance of the result, there needs to be an even-handed process applied. If there are to be hand recounts, then fairness would suggest that it be done statewide when it's a statewide election.
