Frank,

The Buck will finally stop at the US Supreme Court. Now what is the political background of the associate Justices??

THe Supreme Court is fairly balanced (or deadlocked), with many decisions going 5:4. The party affiliation doesn't play much role here, since the many justices appointed by Republicans turned out to be liberals.

If they act based on their affiliation or ideology, and not on the merit of the cases, Republicans have 5:4 majority.

The only problem with the Republicans is that because of their sense of fair play, they tend to snatch the defeat from the jaws of victory time after time. Democrats are not burdened by any sense of fairness. The guiding principle is quest for power.
