On the other hand you've got Bush trying desperately to stop the process and losing the PR and court war in the process. His credibility diminishes when he uses Harris to try and stop the process which most Americans are willing to let go on. The only fair solution now is for a bi-partisan panel to oversee a complete Florida hand recount. There are all sorts of errors reported and as we know each recount shows a different tally, enough to swing the election or nail it down for Bush. Either way the public wants to see this finished by a hand recount. Only Bush partisans disagree because they are scared. But if Bush manages to win because of Harris his presidency will have a stink hanging over it for four years. Not even the GOP should want that. The winning party under those conditions would be the ultimate loser. Gore is just asking for an actual vote recount which is his right and what the public wants. Anything less will smell of a "theft" of the election. expect the Supreme Court in Atlanta to agree and this to end in about 8-9 days. I understand why Bush is in denial because he may lose it with a recount, but if he aims to win by trying to hide something from the public that doesn't speak well for him or his party. And maybe they DO have something to hide. If not, then count away. Bush and Harris really blew it yesterday in the PR war. That will only get worse for them unless they agree to the total Florida recount. Their only argument is that when cards are handled "again and again" they are damaged, but in fact they haven't even been "handled" once. This would be the first time. And the first recount was automatic and mandatory. Bush made it sound like his "support" of that first recount was some kind of concession. Why can't he just be honest and trust the people for once?
