Dan:
Yer welcome: As a Texas resident I would prefer Bush to get elected. Mostly thats because we have very few or very liberal laws that made it possible for me to afford to live here.
To give an example, the total fees and building permit and inspection costs to build a home on 5 acres here was $110.
400 ft of power line- free
400 ft of underground dual phone lines- free( $50 off because they were 1 day late)
Drain field permit and inspection - thats the $110 bucks to health department
No construction, electric, plumbing fees.
To register two vehicles from Calif and obtain two
drivers licences $118
Yearly vehicle inspection ( smog) was $9, now $12
If over 60, hunting or fishing licences are free
Trash or brush burning permitted except in dry weather Some local land still available at $3 to $5k per acre(
because of reasonable taxes)
No State income tax.
Summary:
If Mr Bush moves to Washington, he has the background to recognise how damaging excessive local taxes are to
most people at lower income levels. I can live with any income tax, it was the local taxes and fees in Washington and California that stopped any financial progress I may have made there
Good luck
Sig ( living in a hot(hehe) paradise).
