Iridium Wildcard

"Iridium Satellite LLC will continue to provide commercial satellite communications to the U.S. government and plans to re-launch affordable satellite communications services to those industry segments that have a particular need for satellite communications (government, military, humanitarian, heavy industry, maritime, aviation, adventure) within 60 days."

So:

Does I* work well enough to attract subscribers? Many have stated that it is so poor who would want it.

Does the DOD prefer I* at this time and in the near future? Once again does it perform well enough that they won't run to G*.

What will I* price its minutes at? Maybe a low per minute charge by I* will be the "straw" that causes G* and the SPs to come down to earth with there prices.

If I* ultimately survives how will this impact G*? Will it support G* restructuring and shareholder loss or will it pump new life into G* and allow us to avoid restructuring?

Where does I* stand with respect to competing markets? Do they already have data hardware and capabilities (I believe not)and who would choose them over the great reviews that G* gets. (I think the only post I've ever seen regarding poor reviews recently came from BobR from all people and that was while not in the US).

Could perhaps the only real interest in I* be the legal rights they have obtained in foreign countries? Maybe no one in their right mind will plan to utilize the current sat constellation.
