I hope you are right! One aspect that seems to be neglected is the effect of Sony's cutback in PS2 shipments on launch date. Because of necessity, Sony is scheduling shipments out over a 5-6 month basis to catch up by Spring 2001.

This rescheduling makes it much more convenient for the smaller companies such as Mad Catz and Interact. Instead of having to haul in huge inventories from Asia all at one go, they can match Sony's slower ramp up. This means:

1. Working capital constraints are reduced

2. The risk to them is reduced (if for some reason, PS2 is not a hit)

3. Earnings should spread out beyond just the usual stellar quarter before Christmas.

This is why I believe that GIG could buck the trend and could keep going up even after Christmas.
