Techplayer I found the link regarding Bell South helpful. The article said, "Bell South wouldn't increase its capital spending plans. Instead it will shift its spending towards its new, fast growing businesses and away from slowing-growing, traditional telephone services." If we look at what WCOM is doing, dumping MCI we can see an industry trend forming. The telecom's are redistributing their spending, so as to increase spending in their high growth areas, datta, internet ect. This could mean good things for Avnx investors, because WCOM is obviously going for it with their dumping of MCI, and getting serious about building their datta, internet business. Hopefully they will commit to the whole Avnx system, in time. It would make sense, such a state of the art optical network would put them at the head of the pack, where they obviously want to be.
