While looking back through the charts I noticed a great similarity exactly 10 years ago for INTC as well as AMAT. For INTC, using a factor of 35 to adjust 10 year old prices, prices bottomed out at $22 in Oct. 1988 vs $22 in 1998. INTC them increased to $56 in July '90 vs $70 in 2000. This was followed by a drop to $34 in Oct. 1990 vs $37 in 2000. Ten years ago the price then increased by 50% in the next 6 months to a new high and of course by a factor of 35 in 10 years. Was anyone around 10 years ago following tech. stocks that remembers what happened and can speculate on whether we will see a similar turnaround.
