I'm having a similar problem right now. While I was surfing the net the otherday my computer suddenly stopped responding and went blank. I rebotted but what came up on the screen was something like bio virus detection enabled and wouldn't boot. I tried rebooting a couple of times but nothing. I threw in my boot disk and it booted into dos. I pulled out the disk and the computer booted up to windows fine. This morning I was uninstalling unnecessary files from the computer through control panel add and remove applet. One of the programs was norton utilities, after it was done it said that not all files could be deleted and would have to be deleted manually. I went into the program files and deleted the remnant files. Just as soon as they deleted the screen started to spew all different colors. I immediately shutdown the computer and ever since it will not boot even with the startup disk in. I get no screen at all. All's I get is a bunch of colors on my monitor. I thought it might be the video card so I changed it out but nothing. I was thinking maybe I downloaded a virus and my harddisk got infected so I installed a new disk and I still get nothing. I'm thinking maybe the bios received a virus and looked inside to see if I could possible replace it but it is soldered on. If anybody has any suggestions it would be appreciated. The motherboard is a abit bh6 running pentium 3 w/500mhz processor 128mb ram. The video card is a matrox g400 millenium.

Thanks

Steve
