"what is the high end US Navy doing? "

I would hardly call the US Navy a "high end" user of computer equipment. While it's true that they have some pretty cool ultra-secret decoder rings and other technological marvels, they, like most of the rest of the federal government, tend to lag a year or two behind the rest of the world when it comes to implementing new technologies. It's that whole low-bidder thing they have going on. They get a much better deal on high-end Pentium II's then on low-end Pentium III's etc.

I realize that we are talking about storage here but the principle remains the same. I'd wager that Dell will sell them last years technology. I think it's safe to say that EMC is right when they say that Dell sells (storage) only to the low end at least as far as the federal government is concerned.

JMHO.

Really amazing stuff there. I know we still have a bear as long as the love in threads are in denial. Sheesh.
