McKie~ Curious question. Another question: Why?

If it were the McKie Technology Review, and hundreds of attendees spending thousands of dollars each were there to hear speakers representing technologies that define the McKie vision, what is the purpose of inviting non-MTR companies to speak?

Conference in September had BellSouth, AKAM, and NTAP speak.
