I'm for Harry Browne, not Bore or Gush,
And I think the Sec of State has the authority to end all this and certify the election after overseas ballots are counted. Two machine counts are enough.

I'd love to hear from any thread members who have no strong feelings for either candidate -- what do they think about
hand recounts in this process?

I was not for either (thought to be honest I've been concerned about someone as mentally challenged as Bush being President). A supervised hand recount where both parties are monitoring the recount seems like the fairest solution as it will determine the true will of the voters. A machine recount by an inaccurate machine (which discards ballots in the same manner each time) is not a valid or reliable measurement. If Bush truly won Florida, why is he afraid of a supervised hand recount?

I am all for counts and recounts. What I think is preposterous is that they will let somebody decide the intent of a voter, if that intent is not clear. Bottom line: All this scrutiny of the ballots is unecessary and unconstitutional. If a voters intent is not 110% clear it should be thrown in the trash. Period. The constitution does not say that somebody can choose my intent for me.
