Gopher, Re: TheRegister has published leaked list prices for P4 systems.

They have "stolen" them from JC who, I believe, discovered them first. At least they could get him some credit...

Looking at these prices it is very clear that P4 will be a niche product at the beginning. The "cheapest" systems will still be priced around $2,000 and will have an enormous disadvantage because of slow memory (PC600) and cheap video cards.

That total prick!

I didn't originate the information, but Mr. Thomas took my exact wording and formatting of the systems without even mentioning my existence!

This guy is like Mike Magee's evil twin brother. I liked Mike Magee. Now he has been destroyed. :(

Gopher,

Re: P4 systems
Who on earth will buy at these prices, especially with only 128 meg of ram?

Some people will buy. For example, I am fairly clueless about home-entertainment electronics stuff, so when I want to buy something, I buy Sony, maybe 2nd or 3rd best (based on price) piece of equipment in the category.

A lot of people buy computers this way.
