She showed a great deal of guts? By ignoring an obvious conflict of interest? Anyone heard about her wanting an ambassadorship if Bush is elected? Jeb Bush recused himself, as he is (or would be perceived as) obviously biased toward his brother. She would have shown guts by doing the same. Instead, she revealed herself as a partisan hack without integrity.

What would have been a good idea was for her to do what Jeb Bush did. If someone was in a position to replace her authority and came to the same conclusion would have been better for Bush. It would have been harder to question that person's judgement. Of course that person may not have come to the same conclusion as Harris as well.
(apologies to Harris supporters)

I would rather see the Florida Supreme Court rule in Harris's favor because I want this thing to end ASAP.
They still have to prove she did not do her job in exercising desretion---I think that still will be hard. If they turn against her, the wording of their ruling will probably be very harsh! Believe it or not the harsh wording will work in Gore's favor in terms of public opinion.

Recounts are taking too long---I hate it!

Considering that Bush is losing in US Appeals court this evening, the legal options available to Bush are being quickly eliminated. If Gores win in FLA supreme court, the market will see it as heading to a logical conclusion and the uncertainty will be lifted. That will probably help the market. The uncertainty is just killing this market. Of course if the US court action and Supreme Court possibilities are being eliminated for Bush while at the same time the recounts are going on, we could have a quick conclusion.

That said, I still hope the Florida appeals court rules for Harris.

Good Evening Sir,

And you have shown yourself, not to be bipartisan, but to be a tried and true Democrate. I sir, am a Republican second and an American first and have no need to hide behind such silliness as your previous post declaring partiality out of one mouth and this note out of the other.

90% of the population of the United States of America is either Democrate or Republican so over 90% would be bias, that is why she is taking such great care to do exactly what the law says to the letter and no more.

Is her personal belief biased? Of course it is, she is a Republican, it has to be just as if she were a Democrate it would be the other way around. But, and this is a big but, if you watch the actual court proceedings, if you take the time to get the actual documents off the net, if you go and read the actual laws of the State of Florida, her actions are unbiased, TOTALLY !!!

You have your right to your opinion, I have mine. I have done the above, have you??

wb

>> he showed a great deal of guts? By ignoring an obvious conflict of interest?

In that case, any election official or judge that has major party affiliation should recuse themeselves, and we will leave it to Libertarians like freeus to decide who will be president.

Why didn't you say that to begin with. I never knew that Katherine was related to Dubya.
