Why is there a need to discuss abortion on this thread? Those who wish to do so should start one for this purpose. IMO the only connection is the two candidates' views on this subject and personal invective is unnecessary.

In random conversations with people. I have found that women fear Bush will somehow overturn Roe vs. Wade and that Gore approves of partial birth abortion. I think these two views are appropriate here.

Every pro-abortionist believes in selective abortions. I believe in abortion in the cases usually used to argue the right for any abortion: rape, incest, life of the mother, even severe deformity. But I want to draw the line very close to those and not use them as a pretext to include all the convenience abortions as fine and dandy.

Does anyone believe in selective abortions? Say you can determine that your son or daughter in the womb has a deformity or disease?

That opens a can of worms. IMO, people who vote democrat
have a brain deformity. :) That isn't a reason to abort
them.

Yes, the San Antonio Medical Center gives a free abortion to any woman who is carrying a fetus that resembles Al Gore.

<< Does anyone believe in selective abortions? >>

I believe in selective abortions, for any reason, that should be safe, available and inexpensive. If Gore gets in, perhaps we will see federal funding for this important women's health service, domestically and overseas.
