Chicago Tribune: "Daley has More to Lose Than Gore."
John Kass' column pointed out that new US Attorneys
in a Bush Admin. mean the Daley brothers are vulnerable
to indictments for theft and corruption and RICO...
Only small time pols are going down in Chicago. Tame US Attorney ignores Daley corruption.
John Kass is the guy who took Mike Royko's space.
Cheers...

It is naive and childish to believe that people are not motivated by their own
personal interests. And I can judge anyone I want. You are judging that you
KNOW the passion genuinely held by Harris. How can you know that? How
very silly and hypocritical of you. You are making a really big judgment there. My
guess is you've never talked to the woman. How can you "well know the passion"
she holds? Maybe she's faking it. Maybe she's been offered a tasty plum job if
she pulls Bush's nuts out of the fire- or was that the kind of passion you meant
you understood? BTW- when it comes to judging the religious right shouldn't
have ALL the fun. I, however, do not blow people up or condemn them to Hell
when I judge them not to measure up to my standards.

Some people appear to rise above personal interests, but they merely have loftier
seeming personal interests. I am sure Harris firmly believes only Republicans can
benefit all- but that's because she is a partisan- and they never think very clearly
(imo). Partisans are certainly single minded and determined- but they are hardly
open minded and honorable- imo. You may like partisans- I don't. Of course
they can be an end to a means. I suppose if I wanted Bush to be president I
would see Harris as a useful pawn toward that end, but I wouldn't admire her for
being a partisan even if she was a partisan in a cause I supported.
