Are Gore's supporters evil? Are Bush's?

All challenges on absentee ballots must be made prior to opening them. They are usually based on whether or not they were postmarked and signed in accordance with detailed criteria. news.excite.com

I would hope that both parties are distributing letters to their workers listing the legally acceptable reasons for absentee ballot challenges.

The challenges to the election are occurring in an adversarial process. Both parties are trying very hard to win the election, or at least to win in the court of public opinion. In the former matter they will each ultimately bow to the rule of the court with the highest authority. In the latter concern, each party tries to present their view of what is happening in the best possible light. These presentations are constructed on a sixth grade reading level. They often turn out to be distorting and inflammatory. We can see through them, and we usually find them annoying.

If it were not for a new untested ballot design in Palm Beach County, Gore would have won Florida and the presidency by about 19,000 votes on November 7. The outcome of Florida will hinge on whether or not the courts will allow a revote or an adjustment in Palm Beach County for this problem.

It does not help for you to be so bitter or angry about this. Just ask yourself, what would you be doing differently if you were in the Democrat's position? Or in the Republican's position?

Best regards,
Tom D

Victor:

re >>Gore and his bunch will stop at nothing to steal this election.<<

I sent e-mail to the Bush people imploring them to do what they could to protect the incoming ballots. U.S. Customs, a governmental organization, as well as the U.S. Postal Service, a union-dominated, quasi-governmental organization both had to handle these incoming ballots.

As for the handling of the mail before it reached our shores, Lord knows what kind of handling they had. I'm a little suspicious of the hundreds that had no postmark. At any rate, the news reported on the "surprisingly" few ballots returned. I am not surprised.

Regards,

Greg

Gore and his bunch will stop at nothing to steal this election.

Come off it Victor. That Rush Limbaugh crybaby crap does not play well here. The Republicans are working very hard to try to prevent the accurate recount of the votes and there doing it by smearing the hardworking Floridians who are doing the recounts. George Bush and his Daddy's handlers were the first to go to court and the first to go to federal court. So much for states rights. Recounting of the votes is taken place under Florida law. And it's in Florida law (and Texas law for that manner) because all this has been seen before in local elections. It's well known that the vote counting machines do not work to the accuracy required in this close election particularly for the punched card ballots and that fact is getting corrected. Just count the votes.
