I'd say they're late. Like Itanic. Fortunately for AMD, it looks like P4 is something of a loser (at least in its first implementation). So AMD continues to have plenty of time during which it will make lots of money and can continue to expand into some of Intel's other markets.

How do you like the way 1.2 Athlon with inexpensive PC133 memory beats 1.5 P4 with costly dual channel Rambus on business applications?

Pretty cool, eh?

I guess now we know why the .13 process Intel hopes to have output from about a year from now is targeted at P3 instead of P4.
