Cha2,

I am a couple posts behind responding to you, but ....

I would like you to check out this post (and back track it) that says, "I asked about the performance of existing 1x in Korea, and wanted to know specifically what throughput a typical user would get, irrespective of the quoted 144 kbps rate. I was told 64 kbps, in good agreement with the SSB number.".:

Message 14841148

I suppose several of our fellow Qheads will respond with anguished cries of FUD.

BTW: I have finally figured out what FUD is. It is any statement, however accurate, that is NOT favorable to QUALCOMM.

Cha2,

Re: QCOM - 2.5G/3G

<< My thought was that the king includes the smart card capability >>

That is really why I responded "In any 3G3 poker game you can't open without it." and went on to say "We are delivering the MSM 5100 to Korea".

I made a mistake (here and in another recent response to you on the Nokia thread) referring to the MSM 5100 rather than MSM 5000.

I meant to say we are delivering the MSM 5000 to Korea.

No R-UIM (smart card cdma USIM) interface on the MSM 5000. No interoperability with other 3G modes as a consequence. Some would say no 3G compliancy.

Next up is the MSM 5105. R-UIM interface and IS2000A compliant. It will be followed by the MSM5100 (I guess). No detail from Qualcomm on this. Just a product page. No press release. All in good time.

<< Guess you have had a good window on Asia all along ! >>

Big gaps. I'm catching up.

A new SI thread was started this week.
