I don't get your argument. It was Gore's responsibility to help Bush out? State law provides for either candidate to ask for a recount in any county within 72 hours. Gore did it in 3 counties (counties which, by the way, have a prior history of wrongly disregarding a disproportionate number of ballots). Bush, or someone in his behalf, did it in Seminole county. So why was it up to Gore to 'exercise the fairness bone' and not Bush?

Presidential politics is hardball, not a hospice.
