If I thought people could control themselves I would. The reason communism and socialism don't work, is that people are unable to work for the greater good. Both those systems presume that people are a great deal better than they are. That's the same reason libertarianism doesn't work either. People don't want freedom. That is all too clear. What do most people do with the freedom they have? Rush to chain themselves to some group that will think for them.

It's all very depressing.

I might be tempted to be a libertarian, if all people were as hardworking, reasonable and responsible as I am. But they aren't. You might be- I don't know you, so I can't judge- but most people I meet are not. So I am not tempted.
