It just bothered me that the anchors, those on their panels and persons being interviewed all called these ballots military ballots. Not one of them pointed out that absentee ballots included civilian votes. > but in Florida...a state the Dems needed to carry...they were ready ahead of time to go into heavily Democratic counties to mine votes...no other way to put it. There were other states...other counties...where there were even larger anomalies...but you don't hear the Democrats worrying about whether those people were disenfranchised or not. < It's unfortunate - and not right, to me - that these other discarded votes in other states are not being considered or reviewed as they are in Florida. And the Democrats were ready with people to go to Florida. I believe we discussed that yesterday and the consensus was, I believe, that they were, smartly, prepared and that the Bush team should have been likewise prepared. It may bother you that the Democrats were so prepared and moved so quickly, but there is nothing wrong or illegal or inherently 'suspicious' about it. The Bush camp simply wasn't as well prepared and that is unfortunate for them. They could easily have done exactly the same thing - moved people in quickly. The reason, I believe, that the Democrats did move so quickly in regard to Florida - and not whatever other states you are referring to - is because Florida's electoral votes are so crucial. Other states with close results don't have the # of electoral votes that are vitally crucial to the total # needed for a win. The number of Florida's electoral votes directly and crucially affect the outcome of this election while other states with close races don't have enough electoral votes to do the same. That is why, I believe, the focus on Florida.
