I filled out one of those magazine apps for a datek brokerage last friday (11/10) along with a certified check for 5k. As of friday (11/17), having no e-mail from datek, I E-mailed them about the account. The response was quick: no app received. I thought I would redo the whole thing, but the bank told me they won't stop payment on the check for 30 days. Anyone have advice on how to get this acct open? I Would like to be able to deploy that money soon as it doesn't make anything in limbo. Not blaming datek, just trying to figure this out. How often does datek have those problems you'all were talking about earlier? I picked them because I like not paying extra for limit orders and think island is pretty cool (currently w/fido). comments?
