"She can't walk away"? What about Gov. Jeb Bush's recusing himself from the election commission? Was he walking away from his duties? I gather you're a Republican. You certainly seem to want to see things only one way. Your argument reminds me of Secretary Baker, who constant preaches about following the law, while simultaneously going into federal court to prevent the manual recount law from being followed. I guess what he really means is follow some laws - the ones that benefit his side.
