It's a common Republican position that the Democrats are doing what they are doing in Florida simply to win. The other side of the coin is that because the state of Florida's # of electoral votes are so crucial that is why the Democrats are so determined to see a manual recount completed. A fine line of difference I suppose, but different nevertheless. Of course the Democrats want to win. So do the Republicans. I believe Gore wants to win OR NOT based on the vote and that Bush wants to win by stopping the vote while he is ahead.
