Bush wants to win by stopping the vote while he is ahead.

Can't let you get away with that one <g>. The election was over almost 2 weeks ago. The votes were counted...Bush won...the votes were recounted...Bush won.

The flap over the butterfly ballot was trumped up to give the Democrats a reason to go into Florida and mine votes. On this one I guess we will have to agree to disagree...

The only thing I will give the Gore campaign credit for is the fact that they were prepared...they had trained recount teams and a flotilla of lawyers ready and waiting...because they have done this before...Daley...need I say more.

Am I the only one wondering why the Rep. so adamantly DON'T want the votes counted in heavily Rep. areas ? Could it be they're afraid that thousands of votes will be found for Gore and they know it ?

The Rep. have either made a strategic error by not asking for a hand count in Rep. areas by the deadline, boxing themselves into a corner by criticising the hand count at the beginning, and then not being able to backtrack and say 'we want one too.'

OR They know votes will be discovered for Gore. Without counting the votes in the Rep. areas it will always look as though they were afraid Jeb left his fingerprints and they were afraid of too much scrutiny.

Hi, Ellen !
