kapkan-- Re: Wake up people. The democracy itself is being stolen from you. The Clinton cabal is taking over the country.

Our democracy is not threatened by the Democratic and Republican parties each doing their damndest to win. Read some of Twain's satire about the Gilded Age. I certainly didn't vote for the self-righteous populist and find the prospect of his being President rather distasteful, but I don't think it indicates an impending threat to democracy to have a guy that lost an election by .01% of the vote in one state attempt to extract a victory by dragging things out and engaging in legal chicaneries.

Re: My blood is boiling.... The democracy itself is being stolen from you. The Clinton cabal is taking over the country.

Gore won the overall popular vote by more than 250,000 votes. Bush is about to become the next president on a technicality.

5,000 bad absentee ballots from a heavily Bush district in florida were (illegally) corrected by Republican workers after they were signed and delivered, 2,500 or more votes for Gore were miscast for Buchanan after the local democrat failed to see what the republican who designed the layout was up to.

There have also been some stories that about 1,000 absentee ballots from overseas, many cast by servicmen, were rejected for minor defects, which is disappointing, to say the least. But it wouldn't change the results either way.

I think it's about 10 to 1 now that Bush will win, despite the American people having voted for Gore. Please try to contain your outrage at some of the democrats who are protesting what seems to be the inevitable, erroneous outcome. Consider for a moment how it looks from the other side. How would you feel if Bush had won the National vote and lost Florida by far fewer votes than were clearly miscast for another candidate and also far fewer votes than were accounted for by ballots "corrected" by workers from the other party after they had been cast ?

The economy is now slowing, there is a cloud over this election, and I expect the Democrats to gain seats in both the House and Senate 2 years from now. If the Republicans can impeach the president for having a girlfriend, then the Democrats can certainly impeach the president for not having been honestly elected. Sounds like more fun to come, doesn't it?

Wake up people. The democracy itself is being stolen from you. The Clinton cabal is taking over the country.

But Kap, the media, the Dems, and Scumbria will tell you it's the will of the people. Gore is scum, I wasn't sure before but I am now. How can they recount only 4 democratic counties? how can they recount at all when this whole election is set up for machines to count, how can any of this even be happening at all. Seems all Gore cares about is getting in office, the heck with what is right. guess his boss for the last 8 years taught him well.

Do you understand why tenn voted Bush?
