Jim, we still have to go through some tax loss selling in December. We may get a nice trading rally anyway, or a few of them, but they will be just that, short trading rallies. I think things will remain too dicey to call a sustainable rally by 31 Dec.2000....Remember, the FED valuation target for stocks equates to an SPX of 1100...They don't care about the stock investors, they care about the health of the banking sector, that will be the spark to lower rates, to bail out the banks....
Why, oh why, does everyone chant the FED will save the markets mantra??
It will be a spillover, not the target.
