Should the "need" drive the "right" to bear arms? If this is so, there is many a J6P that has never found reason to speak his mind(perhaps some would quip "thank God") should he also lose this right?

Do you have any idea how many crimes and killings are prevented by guns?

I've a friend who received an anonymous phone call stating, I'm coming to your house to kill you. Nothing happened. But what if he went to buy a gun, was told he had to wait the waiting period, then was shot at home that evening.

Did you rule out self defense somewhere? I don't get it.
