Epi,

Don't you think that 4 pages of SPEC benchmark, which is the only benchmark other than Quake where P4 does well is quite a bit misleading? It's almost impossible to find a real world application that parallels SPEC. As you saw, P4 does very poorly on normal apps.

I think I had a valid point when I said on Anand's BBS that giving enormous credibility and space to SPEC benchmark is very misleading. Anand did not include SPEC benchmark eventually, but it was only because Intel didn't have their SPEC compiler done on time.

I admit I could have done it more diplomatically, but it would not get the response it did if I posted it in a low key manner.

I am still planning an apology (or a praise for the article), I just didn't get to it yet.
